Hockey for Amputees The
two sports of Ice Sledge Hockey and Standing Ice
Hockey will co-operate the first time in a joint
project at the upcoming Russian National Congress
“People and Health” to be held in St.
Petersburg, Russia, from 21 to 25 November 2005.
During the congress, both opportunities will be
demonstrated to participants and the general public.
The demonstration events intend to educate the audience
on Ice Sledge Hockey and Standing Ice Hockey as
well as to recruit new players.
The demonstration events will start on 23 November
at the Yubileiny Ice Place in St. Petersburg, Russia,
with the International Standing Ice Hockey Federation
Super Cup, featuring a match between a Russian team
and Team Europe (players from Latvia, Czech Republic
and Israel).
On 24 November, Team Estonia will conduct an Ice
Sledge Hockey training session and exhibition match
at the Ice Arena "Spartak".
The project has been organized by the International
Paralympic Committee (IPC) Ice Hockey Committee,
the Russian Paralympic Committee, the Congress "People
and Health" and the International Standing
Ice Hockey Federation.
